Date like a man in the City of Light and Love...Charlotte Summers is a sassy young French teacher two days away from moving to Paris. Love of her life by her side for those romantic kisses walking along the Seine? Check. Dream of studying at the prestigious Sorbonne University? Admission granted. But when she discovers her fiancé's online dating profile and has a little chat with the busty redhead he's been sleeping with on the side, she gives up on committed relationships and decides to navigate Paris on her own. Flings with no strings in the City of Light - mais oui!

Determined to stop other women from finding themselves in her shoes, Charlotte creates an anonymous blog on how to date like a man in the City of Love - that is, how to jump from bed to bed without ever falling in love. But with a slew of Parisian men beating down her door, a hot new neighbor who feeds her chocolate in bed, and an appearance by her ex-fiancé, she isn't so sure she can keep her promise to remain commitment-free. When Charlotte agrees to write an article for a popular women's magazine about her Parisian dating adventures - or disasters, rather - will she risk losing the one man who's swept her off her feet and her dream job in one fell swoop?

Sleeping With Paris is a story about a young woman who, after discovering that her fiance has been cheating on her, decides to move to Paris by herself even though she was supposed to move there with him. Bitter and jaded after having her heart broken, Charlotte decides to experiment with dating "like a man" and she starts a blog to journal her experiences. The experiment is made easier after she meets a new friend, Lexi, who claims to have no interest in men aside from sex. While slowly mending her heart from her ex's deception, Charlotte finds herself growing more attached to Luc, the "half naked French hottie" who lives in the same apartment building.

Sleeping With Paris was quite the rollercoaster ride and I really enjoyed it! Some scenes, especially Charlotte's date with a frisky man she met in a club, had me laughing out loud. The author also did a great job of creating storylines for many of the secondary characters and I liked that they were not only there to support Charlotte.

What I liked best about the book was how realistic Charlotte's journey was in moving on from Jeff, her cheating bastard of an ex-fiance. Even though she knew he was no good, there was a part of her that wanted him to prove her wrong and to fight for her. And even when she was dating other guys and growing more attached to Luc, she still stubbornly held onto her feelings for Jeff. And even though she seemed to enjoy her dating escapades, at the core was a desire to throw them in Jeff's face. What woman cannot relate to that?? At the same time, there were moments in the book where I really did not like Charlotte, especially a scene where she allows herself to "be taken" by a man she has no desire to really be with and afterwards just shrugs it off like it was nothing. I found that scene very hard to swallow and it took me a while to like Charlotte again. Additionally, I found her to be selfish in her attitude about her parent's separation, as if their lives were supposed to revolve soley around her. 55 year old parents are just as entitled to find their happiness as 25 year olds. I shrugged that off as immaturity but was hoping for an "aha" moment that never came.

In sum, I found this to be a very engaging and entertaining book full of drama, conflict and, of course, a satisfying happy ever after ending. Good sex scenes too :)

Sleeping with Paris A Paris Romance (Audible Audio Edition) Juliette Sobanet Tanya Eby Brilliance Audio Books Reviews

This is a book I'd like to say I hated loving. Then grew to love it more than I could have imagined. It wasn't love at first sight by any means but like a fine wine and over the course of some time...this novel won me over and won me over big.

Charlotte is a 20 something with a fantastic boyfriend she is all set to marry and move to Paris with. Then her world comes crashing down when she learns, all along he's been cheating on her. With a crushed heart and a less than supportive family, Charlotte throws caution to the wind and decides, to hell with it, and goes to Paris alone. Because of the agony of her broken heart, Charlotte becomes determined to, "Date like a man" and not become involved or attached to any man. Use them like they use women...Does it work? You have to get the book.

I grabbed this book because it was free...yes I'm a book whore. I liked the cover and the blurb and I decided to give the ghosts, demons, vampires and werewolves some time off and read about real life and normal people and boy am I glad I did. This book was a breath of fresh Parisian air, full of butter croissants and fine wines and the rush of life one can only feel in the streets of Paris. Juliette Sobanet is an amazing author who knows how to tell a real story, one that makes you, angry, sad, giddy and feeling a bit sexy too. I'm so glad I gave this book a chance, not my normal everyday read, this is what I love about today...finding authors I would never encounter in a normal book store setting. "Sleeping with Paris" has become my favorite read of 2012
5 STARS! So very richly deserved!
Charlotte is devestated to discover her fiancee Jeff has been cheating on her just before both of them were supposed to go to Paris with each other. At first she decides maybe she doesn't want to go, but then she decides not to turn up an amazing opportunity she has to go to school overseas. Especially when she's able to secure housing for herself in student housing. Since she finds herself once again single and in no way ready to have her heart broken again, she decides she's going to spend the next year in Paris dating like a man. Not only that but she's going to write a blog about her experiences dating like this.

At first dating like a man is very fun as she's able to go out with all kinds of guys and the blog she's writing starts to attract readers. In fact it ends up attracting the attention of a magazine and she starts to write articles based on her blog for them. Going out on the town does take it's toll as maybe it's not as much fun as she thought it would be and also she ends up missing a lot of her classes which isn't good as she's supposed to be impressing her student advisor. And after awhile the dating like a man ends up not being as much fun as she thought it would be and for awhile she becomes depressed and unsure of where she is going to go next in her life. A lot has really happened to her in Paris as she's made some friends, had some amazing dates with a really special French man and really has learned some life lessons as she's dealt with all kinds of ups and downs.

When her relationship with her french man grows beyond just dating she continues to write about him in her column since it's for an American magazine and so the chances of him ever finding out about it are very slim. However a visit back home for a wedding brings everything to a head especially when she runs into her ex-fiancee and has to choose between going back to the past or continue on with what she has in the present.

Sleeping in Paris was a real good read and it at times really felt like you were right there in France along with Charlotte. While Charlotte does end up making tons of mistakes during her time in Paris, she ends up learning and growing from those mistakes and therefore she felt very likeable and real throughout the course of the story. I also liked reading about some of the friends she happens to make while she's in Paris as especially as we learn there is a whole lot more substance to her as well.

What does Charlotte learn during the year or so she spends in Paris and how does she change from the Charlotte that just arrived over there? Does she find another chance at love or does she end up getting her heart broken yet again? And is she ultimately able to achieve what she needs to in her school program overseas? Was her experience in France ultimately a good thing or a bad thing?

I liked this book so much that I have since also read Kissed In Paris and found that to be an enjoyable book as well.
